This one-year program consists of two college level courses:
ETEC-140 Engineering Graphics Comprehensive with Intro to Computer Aided Design (3 credits)
CDTD-114 Introduction to Parametric Solid Modeling (2 credits)
This program is a one-year program that allows a student the opportunity to earn up to five Ferris State University credits at no cost to them. This course is offered in a blended, online format with four mandatory face-to-face meetings per semester at the TBAISD Career -Tech Center. The final face-to-face meeting is a field trip to Ferris State University’s Computer Aided Design Open House.
Students will learn about the design, engineering, and manufacturing processes and see how everyday products are designed and produced. Students will also learn about additive manufacturing, reverse engineering, and careers in the design and engineering fields.
Students interested in this program should be somewhat proficient with technology e.g. (using email and online courses), have the skills to be successful in a mostly online course, and have an interest in the design fields. Students desiring to take this course for college credit must meet the guidelines for dual enrollment set by the MDE. This course can also be taken for high school credit only.
