
This program provides students with practical experience and instruction in the set up and use of equipment and processes common to the welding trade today. Theory and application of these processes are covered for ferrous and non-ferrous metals in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Fundamentals of welding layout, fabrication, and repair are also covered. Emphasis is placed on all safety procedures typical of the welding trade. Welding and Fabrication students have the opportunity to prepare for and take American Welding Society (AWS) welder qualification tests which can lead to welder certification.
