This
program provides students with practical experience and
instruction in the set up and use of equipment and processes
common to the welding trade today. Theory and application of these
processes are covered for ferrous and non-ferrous metals in flat,
vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Fundamentals of
welding layout, fabrication, and repair are also covered. Emphasis
is placed on all safety procedures typical of the welding trade.
Welding and Fabrication students have the opportunity to prepare
for and take American Welding Society (AWS) welder qualification
tests which can lead to welder certification.
