The following is a list of
tour/visitation opportunities available to area students:
5th, 6th, and 7th graders have the opportunity to enroll in a
three, half-day summer camp each June. Students attending Cool Tech
Camps have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities related
to CTC programs. Enrollment information is distributed to all
elementary and middle school offices in the spring.
8th Graders: Area schools are invited to send their entire
eighth grade class for a visitation to the Career-Tech Center during
March each year. These visitations occur when current eleventh
grade students are taking the Michigan Merit Exam at high schools.
The eighth graders are divided into groups of approximately 20
students and are participate in a four-minute visit to each of our
programs. The tours are lead by CTC staff and students and our
eighth graders are shown demonstrations by current CTC students
within each class. Sparks fly in welding, websites come alive in
Computer Programming/Web Programming and Design, and robots from the
Manufacturing Technology Academy talk to the visiting students.

10th grade students and their parents are invited to attend
our Open House in the fall. We encourage students to view our
Center’s website along with their counselor. The website presents an
overview of each CTC program so the students will be aware of classes that relate to
their career pathway.
10th grade students from all area high schools in the TBA
Intermediate School District attend the CTC for a one-half day
visitation each spring. Students select three programs to visit.
Students participate in a 30-minute demonstration about each class
they visit so they will be better able to decide which one fits
their career pathway.
11th grade students who do not attend CTC are encouraged to
visit programs of interest and enroll as seniors.

our Center. Arrangements can be made to have tour guides available.
